Norwich

I have worked on over twenty productions as a volunteer in the technical department learning about, and giving assistance with, lantern rigging, board and follow spot operation, scenic construction, props building, and set painting.  In July 2007 I undertook my first lighting design for the Youth Theatre’s production of Euripide’s Medea and the follosing month I was employed on the professional staff list as Technical Assistant.

2006 July - September                National Youth Theatre of Great Britain

I was accepted into the Lighting and Sound department in February 2006.

During the season I learnt new skills in sound recording, lighting design, basics in board operation and programming, rigging and maintenance of lighting and sound equipment, and prop building.  I was able to put all of these into practical use in several productions.

·         Sextets: Soho Theatre

·         God Save the Teen: Trafalgar Square

·         Henry V / Much Ado About Nothing: Hackney Empire

2006 July                                  Peacock Theatre, Kingsway

Following my experience with NYT helping at the Peacock with rigging, I was invited to assist with the visiting production of Into the Hoods by ZooNation UK.  I spent a week working in various areas ranging from stage crew, board operating, set painting, prop building, and costume making.

INTERESTS

I am a keen scout, having been an active member of both the Scout Association and the Student Scout and Guide Organisation for several years.  I have worked with Beaver and Scout Units as an Assistant Leader and previously held a place on the Norfolk Network Committee for two years as Public Relations Officer.  For my Venture unit I held a position of trust on the committee as Group Treasurer where I successfully managed the accounts for two years running.  Whilst at university I served on the SSAGO committee for two years as Scout Link which involved communicating and liaising regularly with the local Scout organisations in order to retain a good working relationship with them.

I enjoy my sports and outdoor activities. I play tennis and badminton, and love to kayak.  I like outdoor pursuits including camping, hiking, and pioneering.

I am particularly passionate about the arts and I enjoy attending the theatre.

I am a keen musician, having played classical, electronic and theatre organ since 1995.  I also experiment with saxophone and bass guitar.

I love to design using my creative talents including sculpting, drawing, painting, and photography.  I am currently restoring a carousel horse to its original state using traditional techniques.
